When you open Duke MyChart, you’ll be prompted to upgrade your password security. You can decline the option, but we recommend you set up two-step verification to keep your information as safe as possible.
If you choose to continue setting up two-step verification, you’ll be asked to fill in your email that will be used to verify your identity.
Click the “send to my email” button. We’ll email you a verification code that you use as part of your two-step authentication.
Enter the verification code from your email.
If you want MyChart to recognize your device instead of prompting you for a two-step authentication each time you log in, click the “skip this step next time” option. This offers increased protection, but not as much as using the two-step authentication process each time.
If you do not indicate you’re using a private device or use a different device in the future, you’ll be prompted to verify your identity through the email authentication step each time you log into MyChart.
