Junior Volunteer Summer Program

Duke Raleigh Hospital

As the situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to rapidly evolve, Duke University Health System is working diligently to monitor developments and implement guidelines to prevent the spread of infection. Our top priority is to keep patients, visitors, team members, and the community at large safe. At this time, all hospital volunteer programs are suspended until further notice. We will keep you updated about the status of our volunteer program, and we look forward to welcoming you back to our hospitals in this important capacity as soon as possible.

The Junior Volunteer Summer Program provides high school students, ages 16 to 17, the opportunity to experience a variety of activities in a hospital setting. As they assist and comfort our patients and visitors, junior volunteers learn valuable lessons that they will use throughout their adult lives. This program is only offered during the summer months.

  • Junior volunteers must be in high school and fall between the ages of 16 to 17 on the first day of the program.
