After you’re admitted to the hospital, you’ll be prompted through your preferred method of contact to login to your existing My Duke Health account. Once you’re logged in, your hospital stay will appear at the top of your home screen. Click the green button that says, “view hospital stay” to enter My Duke Health Bedside.

Stay in the know throughout your hospital visit when you use My Duke Health Bedside. No more wondering when your next test is or who to ask for help -- it’s all there in your account. You can easily complete required paperwork and questionnaires, view daily tests and medication schedules, get to know your hospital team and much more. With My Duke Health Bedside, everything related to your hospital stay is in one place.
Getting Started
What’s the Difference Between My Duke Health and My Duke Health Bedside?
My Duke Health Bedside is a feature offered within My Duke Health. It is only accessible if you have been admitted to the hospital and is no longer accessible once you are discharged from the hospital. You need a My Duke Health account to access the Bedside feature. My Duke Health Bedside can be accessed via a web browser or app. If you would like to download the My Duke Health app, you can download it here.
What to Expect
My Duke Health Bedside gives you access to everything you need to know during your hospital stay:
- See the reason for and date of your admission, plus your expected discharge date. If you want to learn more about what is being treated during your stay, you can click on each condition to get more information.
- Get to know your treatment team by viewing their picture and reading their bio and role description.
- Know when to expect a visit from someone on your care team. You can view your schedule, which includes medication times, nursing tasks, surgeries, and more.
- Keep up with your progress by reading through clinical notes written by your care team members.
- View recent lab results and other test results.
- Review explanations about your condition and learn more about it, including lifestyle modifications and treatments available after your hospital stay.
You can also perform various tasks or make requests through My Duke Health Bedside:
- Look at the dining menu and order meals (at select hospital locations).
- Respond to requests from your care team, such as answering questionnaires or signing a document.
- If someone on your hospital care team is unable to see you in person, a virtual call can be done through My Duke Health Bedside.
- Keep your family informed. If someone in your family is your proxy with access to your My Duke Health account, they can also access My Duke Health Bedside to stay up-to-date on your hospital stay.
After Your Hospital Stay
After you are discharged from the hospital, you will no longer have access to My Duke Health Bedside in-hospital features. You will still have access to other My Duke Health services. Information from your hospital stay will remain in your electronic medical record.
