Duke Children's Health Center Hematology Clinic

Type:Duke University Hospital Outpatient Department
Hospital-based clinics are an extension of Duke Health hospitals and have additional facility charges. Some insurance companies process bills with a deductible and coinsurance rather than as a co-pay as for an office visit. This may impact the amount of the bill you are responsible for after payment from your insurance plan. Check with your insurance company before your visit to determine what your responsibility will be.
At Duke Children’s Health Center Hematology Clinic, we provide comprehensive and compassionate care for children and young adults with cancer and blood diseases. From the moment your child is diagnosed, our team of pediatric specialists works with you to develop and administer a personalized treatment plan. We follow your child into early adulthood to monitor for any changes in their health.

Services

We care for children with a wide range of blood diseases such as sickle cell anemia, bone marrow failure, and disorders of bleeding or blood clotting. We also diagnose and treat patients with leukemia, lymphoma, sarcoma, brain tumors, and other tumors.

Our board-certified pediatric specialists work closely with pediatric surgeons and radiation oncologists to develop an individualized care plan for your child. At Duke, you have access to standard therapies and may have the opportunity to participate in innovative clinical research trials of new treatments.

Nurses, child life specialists, and social workers will support you and your family throughout your child’s treatment. For our teen and young adult patients, specialized team members focus on fertility or counseling issues unique to this age range.

We provide the following tests and treatments for children, adolescents, and young adults:
