Duke Primary Care Brier Creek Internal Medicine and Pediatrics offers comprehensive primary care services to children and adults. We offer well care in the form of annual physicals, newborn and well-child exams, as well as sick visits for sore throats, coughs, and colds. We also help you manage chronic conditions such as asthma, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Same-day appointments may be available.

Primary Care Services
The Duke Primary Care Brier Creek Internal Medicine and Pediatrics health care team includes internal medicine doctors, nurse practitioners, pediatricians, and physician assistants who specialize in providing medical care for children and adults.
Internal Medicine Clinic for Adults
- Annual physical exams, check-ups and health screenings
- Sports physicals
- Preventative care and diagnostics
- Diabetes education and nutrition counseling recognized by the American Diabetes Association
- Sick visits for acute illnesses like flu, cold, sinus infections and sore throats
- Immunizations, including annual flu shots

- Women's health care and gynecological screenings, including PAP smears and breast exams
- Lab tests and X-rays
Pediatric Care
The medical team at Duke Primary Care Brier Creek Internal Medicine and Pediatrics include board-certified pediatricians who see newborns, children, teens, and adolescents for the following reasons:
- Well-child check-ups, annual physicals, school physicals and sports physicals
- Immunizations, including newborn and school-age vaccinations, and annual flu shots for children at six months of age and older
- Hearing, vision and developmental screenings
- Ongoing care for chronic conditions such as allergies, and asthma
- Behavioral health evaluations for ADHD, depression, and anxiety
- Common conditions like sore throat, cough, cold, flu, or rashes and skin conditions
Lactation Counseling
Our certified lactation consultants share guidance on all aspects of breastfeeding and assist with breastfeeding concerns. Our clinic has a private space for breastfeeding families.

If you have concerns or questions during the business day or after hours, please call our practice. Your calls will be answered by a health provider who can determine whether you need to be seen for care and where.
Specialty Referrals
When necessary, your internal medicine doctor or pediatrician can refer specialty care to connect you with Duke's network of specialists. Your care is coordinated through My Duke Health (previously Duke MyChart), our electronic medical records system, which is accessible to every doctor and facility at Duke.

Most lab work can be done in our on-site lab.
Accepted Insurance
Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks, including the ones listed below. Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Our clinic is located on the first floor of Duke Medical Plaza Brier Creek across the hall from Duke Urgent Care Brier Creek. We offer a spacious waiting room with 16 exam rooms.
