The Lodge at Duke Medical Center is a short walk from Duke University Hospital and its clinics. It offers comfortable, oversized guest rooms, an on-site cafe, and a complimentary shuttle to Duke medical facilities in Durham. This convenience offers peace of mind for guests traveling to the area for medical appointments. 

Duke Health concierge service can help arrange for stays in short-term housing in nearby private homes or provide rental and apartment information. These are ideal for family members visiting from out of town. Some accommodations are free while others charge a nominal fee. Social workers and/or case manager can help arrange for eligible pediatric patients and their families secure overnight accommodations at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. Outpatients and their families receive priority. A minimal donation is requested. Transportation to and from the Hospital is available during weekdays. Caring House, a home away from home, offers comfortable and affordable housing for adults receiving outpatient treatment at the Duke Cancer Center and their caregivers. A referral from a clinical social worker or patient resource manager is needed for first-time guests.

Caring House offers free parking and transportation to and from Duke University Hospital, as well as many other amenities.
