Duke Raleigh receives support from several sources, including grateful patients, individual and corporate community members, foundations, and others. Some supporters donate in memory of a loved one or to express gratitude for care received at Duke Raleigh. Others donate in honor of a physician or to support a physician's work, and many give to make an impact on the quality of health care provided to their families, their community, or their employees.

Named in honor of the late Doug Vinsel (1950-2016), President and CEO of Duke Raleigh Hospital from 2006 until his retirement in December 2012 and guided by Doug’s principles and priorities, the fund provides resources for staff recognition and employee support, such as professional development and continuing education, as we continue to strive to be the best place to give care and to get care in Wake County.

Established in 2004, this fund was named in honor of Dr. Powell G. Fox, Jr. (1928–2014), a beloved figure whose invaluable contributions to our hospital continue to inspire us. The P.G. Fox Fund supports vital projects that benefit both our patients and our dedicated employees.

Your contributions to the P.G. Fox Fund will support several impactful initiatives including patient transportation vehicles, improving efficiencies and campus enhancements, an employee education fund, and staff well-being.

• Greatest Need Fund: Your gift will provide flexible funding that can be immediately directed to the areas of greatest need.
