We offer several services designed to help you manage your health care, including primary care with added benefits and consultations for help in managing complex medical conditions.
Integrative Primary Care
Our integrative primary care program offers full service, insurance-based care for ongoing well-being, and management of simple and complex medical conditions for a monthly fee of $150.
How It Works
Your integrative medicine doctor is your partner in your health care. During your appointment, your doctor will spend time gaining a deep understanding of every aspect of your health care needs – ranging from sleep and nutrition to your relationships and emotional health and well-being. Your doctor will work with you to create a plan to help you reach your health goals.
If you need specialty care, you’ll have access to specialists throughout Duke Health. Our advanced electronic medical record system is accessible by every Duke doctor in every Duke facility, so your care will always be coordinated. Your secure connection to Duke MyChart lets you view lab results, request prescription refills, communicate with your provider, and pay bills.
Integrative Primary Care Benefits
The $150 monthly membership fee includes:
- Shorter wait times for appointments, same- or next-day appointments for sick visits, and 24-7 access to your doctor for urgent needs.
- Access to Duke Integrative Medicine amenities, including the spa, meditation spaces, and gardens.
- Discounts at our Integrative Café, and for health coaching, acupuncture, massage, and yoga therapies.
- Access to Duke Health and Fitness Center, classes, and programs.
Duke employees receive a discount on the monthly membership fee.
Integrative Medicine Consultations
You may benefit from a consultation with an integrative medicine specialist if you want a new perspective on how to cope with a simple or complex medical condition, such as cancer, diabetes, or heart disease. This service requires that you have a current primary care doctor with whom our providers can partner to help you pursue our recommendations.
How It Works
Our doctors will ask questions to better understand your medical needs and the underlying factors that influence your health. You’ll participate in a review of your medical history, current issues, and desired health goals.
Following this consultation, the doctor will help you develop a long-term plan that may include complementary medicine services, such as massage, nutrition, and/or supplements that coincide with your current treatment. You will work with your primary care provider to put this plan into practice.
Integrative medicine consults do not require primary care membership. They are considered specialty visits and are typically covered by insurance with a specialty copay.
Duke Integrative Medicine’s healing environment features spa-like amenities including whirlpool, sauna, steam room, meditation spaces, walking labyrinth, library, quiet room, contemplative gardens, Integrative Café, and more.
