Billing and Insurance
Please note: Hospital-based clinics are outpatient departments of an individual Duke hospital and have additional facility charges. Some insurance companies process bills with a deductible and coinsurance rather than as a co-pay as for an office visit. This may impact the amount of the bill you are responsible for after payment from your insurance plan. Check with your insurance company before your visit to determine what your responsibility will be.
My Duke Health
All Duke Health hospitals and clinic use My Duke Health (previously Duke MyChart) to facilitate paying your bill. With My Duke Health, you can also view your test and lab results, schedule appointments, message your health care team and request prescription refills.
Health Insurance
Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks.
Please call your insurance company and ask if you have access to health care services at Duke Health locations, and what (if any) co-payments, co-insurances, and deductibles will be your responsibility. The Duke Consultation and Referral Center (855-855-6484) can also review the list of Duke Health accepted insurance plans with you.
