Services
Our infectious disease specialists treat acute and chronic infections, including infections following an organ transplant or other surgical procedures. We also offer ways to treat and prevent infections.
Adult patients may be referred by their provider for the evaluation and treatment of infection-related issues, including:
- HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)
- HIV prevention (pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP)
- Viral hepatitis (hepatitis C or hepatitis B)
- Tuberculosis
- Infections after chemotherapy
- Bone and joint infections
- Antibiotic-resistant bacteria, including MRSA
- Infections after surgery
- Endocarditis
- Travel-related infections
Access to Infectious Disease Clinical Trials
Our doctors are very active in research in all aspects of infectious diseases. As a result, you may be eligible to participate in clinical trials and gain access to new therapies before they become widely available.
Accepted Insurance
Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks, including the ones listed below. Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. The Duke Raleigh Campus has two free parking decks available for visitors and patients. The closest parking deck to this location is Parking Deck 1, which is located to the right of 3320 Wake Forest Road.
