Parking: Parking is available in the Duke Clinic Parking Garage on Trent Drive. Wheelchair assistance is available upon request at the Duke Clinic drive-up entrance.

Shuttle service between the Duke Clinic and the parking garage is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Duke Neuromuscular Services include a number of clinics and laboratories that offer the followoing patient services:

  • ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease): A multi-disciplinary team meets one full day each week to evaluate three to four new and 12 to 15 returning patients in order to provide the best, most comprehensive care for each patient. We particpate in many types of ALS research programs and trials. The Duke ALS Clinic is supported by the Catfish Hunter Chapter of the ALS Association.

  • Electromyography (EMG): The Duke Electromyography Laboratory performs nerve conduction studies, electromyography, single fiber EMG, motor unit analysis, autonomic function tests, and EMG-guided Chemodenervation.

  • EMG-guided chemodenervation: The Dystonia and EMG-guided Chemodenervation Clinic provides EMG mapping and EMG-guided chemodenervation, using botulinum toxin for cervical dystonia, limb dystonia, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, and spasticity.

  • Muscular Dystrophy: The Muscular Dystrophy Clinic is supported the Muscular Dystrophy Association and meets from one half day each week to discuss patient needs and progress. Fellows and residents on the neuromuscular service attend this clinic. The MDA Clinic at Duke follows approximately 1,200 patients.

  • Myasthenia Gravis: The Myasthenia Gravis Clinic is supported by the Muscular Dystrophy Association and meets two half days each week. Fellows and Neurology residents attend this clinic. There are over 1,500 visits to this clinic annually.

  • Neuromuscular Consult: The Neuromuscular Consult Service evaluates patients with diseases of the peripheral nervous system, usually in conjunction with their electrodiagnostic studies.

  • Peripheral Neuropathy: The Peripheral Neuropathy Clinic is a member clinic of American Neuropathy Association and evaluates patients with complicated peripheral nerve disorders.

  • Veterans Administration Electromyography (EMG): The Durham Veterans Administration Medical Center Electromyography Laboratory evaluates about 750 patients annually performing nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
