Insurance and Billing

Duke participates with most insurance companies, Medicare, and North Carolina Medicaid. Before your first appointment, contact your employer or insurance company to confirm whether your coverage includes Duke.

Please bring one form of identification, such as a driver’s license, insurance cards, and authorization forms. We will process claims for services with your insurance carriers. At the time of your visit, you may be asked to pay amounts not covered by your insurance, such as co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance. If you have multiple appointments, your insurance company may require multiple co-payments.

Duke is committed to providing care with dignity and respect. If you have questions or cannot pay your bill in full, please tell us and let us help. Our financial coordinators can help you fill out applications for monthly payment plans and discuss other payment options.

My Duke Health (previously Duke MyChart) is a secure, electronic portal that you can use to pay your bill, view your test and lab results, schedule appointments, perform video visits, message your health care team, and request prescription refills.
