Spiritual Care
Chaplains Can Be Part of Your Care Team
Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital provides care that addresses your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. This means chaplains are valuable members of our care team. Volunteer chaplains are available to assist people of all faiths. Ask a staff member to contact a chaplain for you.
The spiritual care staff is actively involved in your care so you may receive a routine visit from a volunteer chaplain. We respect all religious traditions and practices and we are committed to supporting you. Chaplains are often available to:
- Visit with patients and family members. We can provide comfort and support for you and your family. Whether you need someone to listen, offer advice or encouragement, or join you in prayer, we can help.
- Offer assistance and resources. Chaplains can provide devotional materials.
- Coordinate with your clergy. We can arrange for someone from your faith tradition to visit you or a family member in the hospital.
If you are anxious about your or a loved one’s health, need help to sort through your feelings, or have lost someone close to you, the chaplains are available to help.
Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital Chapel
Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital's chapel is for patients, visitors, and staff to pray, meditate, have quiet time, or counsel with clergy. The chapel is beautifully furnished and appointed with spiritual literature by the hospital's volunteer auxiliary. A prayer request basket is also provided for volunteer chaplains to read and pray over the notes left by visitors. The chapel is always open and provides a peaceful environment for those needing a quiet space.
The chapel is on the first floor between the main visitor's entrance and the patient entrance.
