Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital has been serving the healthcare needs of the greater Lake Norman area, Iredell, and surrounding counties, since 1926. 

In 2025, Duke Health acquired the 123-bed acute-care hospital formerly known as Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. The Lake Norman community now has access to Duke Health's broad array of services.

The medical campus includes 24-hour emergency medicine, a weight loss surgery center, women's services, the Stork's Landing Maternity Center, cardiology, and surgical services. It also includes an orthopaedic specialty center, an outpatient imaging center, and an outpatient surgery center.

History

Originally known as Lowrance Hospital, Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital opened in 1926. S.A. Lowrance donated land, and Mooresville citizens purchased stock for $25 a share. The organization soon became a nonprofit corporation, opened a new four-story hospital in 1930, and expanded twice more in the 1950s and 1970s.

In the 1980s, the name changed to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center to reflect the hospital's commitment to the greater region, and in 1999, a new hospital and medical campus were built on more than 30 acres of land off I-77 at Exit 33. It. became Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in 2025.
