Caoilin Hoctor, PA-C

I am an experienced neurosurgery physician assistant with a clinical practice at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Before joining Duke Health, I supported a neurosurgery group in Tacoma, Washington, followed by working for a thoracic surgery practice in Seattle, Washington. Through these opportunities I was able to work with a diverse patient population in both academic and community settings presenting with a variety of chronic and oncologic conditions. I assist Dr. Brian Sindelar on the treatment of spine and cranial disorders, with my own personal interest being the operative and non-operative management of degenerative spine conditions, meningiomas, and trigeminal neuralgia. I have extensive surgical experience in brain navigation techniques and robotic surgery, which allow for precise and effective treatment planning with faster healing and shortened hospital stays. I take a comprehensive approach to patient care by reviewing imaging and treatment options thoroughly to ensure patients feel informed and supported at every step, whether discussing surgical or more conservative options. I relocated to Raleigh with my husband to be closer to family in the region and my parents in Ireland. Outside of work, I enjoy running and playing the violin.
