I am an advocate and therapist for teens and young adults experiencing chronic health conditions, and one of the features I most enjoy at Duke is being able to work closely with interdisciplinary providers as part of a patient's overall team . I also specialize in bereavement and grief-focused therapy for children, teens and young adults who have faced significant losses of caregivers or other family members and / or significant life changes and disruptions. I enjoy working with CBT and ACT models of therapy to assist those who have been affected by personal and societal trauma and I am trained in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, along with other somatic modalities. I am a community based, trauma-informed provider- also working actively within the school system (Durham Public Schools through Lincoln Community Health), to educate and promote awareness of models to address peer relational aggression and pro-social interventions for high school students.
