Duke Health has launched its own "skill" through the Amazon Alexa app.

As a way to expand access to care, Duke Health has launched its own "skill" through the Amazon Alexa app. The tech-friendly addition makes it easier to connect patients with health care providers.

On-Demand Urgent Care Updates

Users can now get real-time information about nine Triangle-area Duke Urgent Care locations. By asking for "Duke Health" through the voice-activated app, users can get up-to-date information on the nearest clinic where children and adults can receive timely care for illness or injury that isn't life-threatening.

The Duke Health Alexa skill can provide wait times, hours of service, clinic addresses, drive time, and more. A full list of the details for a requested clinic can be sent to a mobile device for easy reading.

How to Use the Skill

1. Download the Duke Health app through the Alexa Skills Store.
2. Ask Alexa for "Duke Health."
3. Follow directions to ask for information about the closest Duke Urgent Care location near you, wait times, and more.

Another option for your urgent care needs is Duke Health Anywhere -- a service that allows you to speak directly with an on-call doctor in a virtual visit using a mobile app or desktop computer.
