Duke Primary Care Heritage Internal Medicine’s health care team includes internal medicine doctors and a clinical support team who specialize in providing medical care for adults.
Internal Medicine Clinic for Adults
- Annual physical exams, check-ups and health screenings
- Preventative care and diagnostics
- Diabetes education and nutrition counseling
- Sick visits for acute illnesses like flu, cold, sinus infections and sore throats
- Immunizations, including annual flu shots

If you have concerns or questions during the business day or after hours, please call our practice. Your calls will be answered by a health provider who can determine whether you need to be seen for care and where.

When necessary, your primary care doctor can make referrals for specialty care -- connecting you directly with Duke's network of renowned specialists. No matter who you see at Duke Health, your care will always be coordinated through our electronic medical records system, which is accessible to every doctor and every facility at Duke.

Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Duke Primary Care Heritage Internal Medicine is a part of Duke Health Heritage, which is located off South Main Street in Wake Forest, NC. This multi-specialty health facility is home to primary care and many specialty clinics.
