About Me
I enjoy taking care of patients with tumors, both benign and malignant, in the head and neck, including skin cancer. I will shoot it to you straight, help guide you through the process, and make sure you leave with all your questions answered. I have an easy-breezy bedside manner and most patients leave with a smile on their faces. When I am not taking care of patients, you will find me in my research laboratory where I seek to improve clinical outcomes in the cancer patients I treat. For fun, I am an avid equestrian, and I try to ride 2-3 times a week. I love to cook and entertain family and friends.

Clinical Focus and Research
Mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (MSCs) are present throughout the body where they function to promote the replacement of cells dying from normal aging and in the setting of cancer. MSCs help to create a local environment immediately surrounding the tumor that promotes its growth, spread, and resistance to chemotherapy and radiation. My laboratory focuses on understanding the two-way communication between oral cancer cells and MSCs, as a treatment strategy to target the effects both of these cell types have on each other, including resistance to chemotherapy and radiation.
