About Me
I am an oncology dietitian, sometimes also referred to as an oncology nutritionist or a cancer dietitian. An oncology dietitian has expertise in assisting cancer patients and their families during the challenges of cancer and cancer treatment. Maintaining nutrition has been demonstrated to help people with cancer maintain a healthy weight, address losses in diet caused by anti-cancer therapies and treatment side effects, help reduce the risk for malnutrition and improve overall health. Well-balanced nutrition is crucial for your health during and after cancer treatment.
My goal is helping persons with cancer and their caregivers navigate nutrition challenges during cancer treatment.
I am a proud Eastern NC native. I have a great love and respect for my state, and I'm happy to provide service to the community. The things that bring me the most joy are evenings and weekends with my family, visiting and traveling with my friends, reading, yoga, hiking with my daughter, good coffee, baking, word games, music that contributes to my emotional well-being, eastern NC BBQ, and my love/anxiety for NC State sports and Carolina Hurricanes hockey.
