Services
The providers at Duke Pulmonary Cary are dedicated to caring for a wide range of pulmonary diseases and respiratory allergies in patients 18 years and older.
Our clinicians, including pulmonologists and a physician assistant, conduct thorough assessment, evaluation, education, and management of patients with pulmonary/allergy-related illnesses.
Pulmonary and allergy services provided include:
- Asthma
- Bronchoscopy (including endobronchial ultrasound guided bronchoscopy)
- Chronic cough
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including chronic bronchitis and emphysema
- Hypoxemia and shortness of breath
- Interstitial lung disease (ILD) including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and sarcoidosis
- Lung cancer
- Lung nodules and masses (or other abnormal findings on CXR or Chest CT scans)
- Pleural effusions
- Sleep disorders, including insomnia and sleep apnea
- Smoking cessation
Diagnostic procedures performed in our clinic include:
- Annual influenza vaccines
- Biologic agents for asthma
- Xolair
- Nucala
- PPD (tuberculosis testing)
- Pneumococcal pneumonia (Pneumovax 23) vaccine
- Pulmonary function test
- Qualification for supplemental oxygen
- RAST blood testing for allergies
Equipment
- Abnormal chest X-ray/CT
- Management of CPAP and BiPAP
