My research looks at how cancer treatments affect the heart, and how we can protect patients from heart problems like heart failure and high blood pressure caused by these therapies. I study large collections of real-world patient data to learn which treatments carry the most risk, who is most likely to be affected, and which medications can help prevent harm. My goal is to turn these findings into practical guidance that doctors can use at the bedside. By studying how heart and cancer care intersect in everyday practice, I hope to help patients get life-saving cancer treatment while keeping their hearts as healthy as possible.

About Me
I am a cardiologist who focuses on cardio-oncology — caring for the heart before, during and after cancer treatment. Many people don't realize that some cancer therapies, including chemotherapy, targeted drugs, immunotherapy and radiation to the chest, can affect the heart. I help patients navigate that overlap, whether they're starting treatment, in the middle of it or finished with treatment and want to protect their heart going forward. Patients often come to me with a weakened heart muscle (cardiomyopathy or heart failure) caused by chemotherapy; high blood pressure or blood clots related to newer cancer drugs; irregular heart rhythms; chest pain; or a heart evaluation before surgery or cancer treatment. I also care for cancer survivors who want to lower their long-term cardiovascular risk. My goal is to keep the heart strong so cancer care can move forward without interruption. I chose this field because it allows me to work side by side with oncologists as one team. I explain things in plain language and make decisions with you, not for you. Outside the clinic, my time belongs to my family — my wife and our two kids — who remind me every day why protecting the heart over a lifetime matters so much.
