Maia S. Robison, MD

I have always enjoyed listening to people's stories and meeting a variety of people. Various experiences led me to want to help others and I was fortunate enough to have come across adults in my life that helped me realize I wanted to pursue psychiatry. I value helping others and working with children and their families. In clinical practice, I enjoy helping children while collaborating with parents, teachers, and others to help create the best treatment plan possible. I see clients with a wide variety of presentations, am particularly interested in ADHD and Anxiety Disorders, and am honored to be at Duke where I trained in residency. When not at the outpatient clinic, I spend time focusing on community mental health with programs such as the NC Psychiatric Access Line and the Collaborative Care Model through the School of Medicine. I have also enjoyed mentoring and teaching younger students and trainees since graduating fellowship. My interest in mentoring and teaching was solidified when I was a graduate student in a Masters program teaching writing and Asian American Literature to undergraduates as a teaching assistant.
