About Me

I have been a speech pathologist since 2002. I chose this field after experiencing the benefits of speech therapy, having a brother who had a developmental delay. To me, speech therapy is the perfect melding of my interest in the fields of physiology and education. I believe results are best when the family is involved in working toward our goals within their child’s daily routines. Therefore, parent education and supporting family involvement is an important part of the therapy that I offer. What I love most about my job is the relationships I build with children and their families, and the opportunity to facilitate positive change in a child’s communication skills. Specific areas of interest include working with children feeding and swallowing difficulties; hearing loss, including cochlear implants; traumatic brain injury; as well as cardiac disorders. It is a joy and an honor for me to be a part of the journey.
