About Me
I am a pulmonologist and critical care specialist with particular interests in breathing disorders, lung nodules, and lung cancer screening. My focus lies on patients with complex problems who require meticulous review of tests, X-rays, and past treatments. I collaborate closely with my patients to ensure they comprehend the impact of their lung condition and to devise personalized testing plans or treatments. Personally, I am passionate about strenuous hobbies and sports, which fuels my desire to understand how breathing difficulties influence my patients' lives and activities.

The Patient Rating score is an average of all responses to care provider related questions on our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Learn more about our survey process. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
Training and Education
Clinical Focus and Research
My research and writing focuses on sepsis and ARDS. My work in sepsis is based on the evaluation of computerized systems to provide early warning that sepsis is developing and to guide clinical staff to intervene early. My work with ARDS began with COVID and now is focused on understanding the relationship of biomarkers to disease severity and developing new treatment approaches for patients with early ARDS.
