About Me

I chose medicine because of my desire to help people live their healthiest lives. I chose pediatric gastroenterology because children and adolescents deserve the opportunity to grow and develop to their full potential. I especially love that this pediatric gastroenterology allows me to work with my hands through endoscopy and colonoscopy to diagnose and treat the conditions that we treat. Within my field, I am specifically interested in eosinophilic esophagitis and inflammatory bowel disease but enjoy seeing and treating everything from mouth to bottom.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

I study eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), an allergic condition affecting the esophagus, in pediatric patients. I am particularly interested in patients who have developed EoE very early in life and those who continue to report difficulty swallowing despite adequate treatment. Outside of EoE, I am interested in improving care delivered to patients with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), specifically by maximizing the benefit they see when using certain medications like infliximab. I am also interested in applying and studying newer technologies such as transnasal endoscopy (EoE surveillance) and IBStim (disorders of the gut-brain axis) in the clinical setting.
