About Me

I work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, taking care of the sickest patients in the hospital, whether they are recovering from a big operation or whether one or more of their organs are failing for any given reason. I am also a general surgeon and, as such, I manage patients with a variety of abdominal pathologies. This can include appendicitis, gallbladder problems, and small intestine and/or colon problems, such as bowel obstruction, acute diverticulitis, and colonic volvulus. I also perform hernia surgery, whether ventral or inguinal. I’ve always wanted to be a doctor and enjoy the privilege of taking care of people. Surgery is very personal to me. It’s a long-term relationship I develop based on trust and compassion as I guide the patient and their family on the journey to recovery. This is why I love what I do.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

My research interests stem from my clinical work. I study nutritional supplementation in the ICU and the impact of nutritional status on outcomes. I enjoy using my knowledge of Vascular Surgery as it applies to critically ill and trauma patients, and aspire to become an expert in the approach to and management of critically ill patients with vascular injury.
