About Me
I am a pediatric infectious diseases specialist with a particular interest in global health and antimicrobial stewardship. I treat children with a variety of infections including those affecting the skin, bones and joints, blood, and respiratory tract. I also work in the hospital and our clinics to ensure that children receive the the appropriate choice, dose, duration, and route of antibiotic therapy. As a pediatrician, I believe in trying to do right by the children of the world, one child at a time. Outside of the hospital, I enjoy being outside (especially hiking and gardening), traveling, and college football.

Clinical Focus and Research
My research focus in on pediatric patients with febrile illness, particularly as it relates to antimicrobial stewardship in global settings. My research is primarily based in northern Tanzania and in the United States. I study how to improve appropriate antimicrobial use through epidemiological surveillance, leveraging diagnostic modalities, education, and implementing quality improvement frameworks – all to ultimately improve outcomes for children locally and globally.
