WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I am a doctor and researcher who focuses on women’s health issues. My research focuses on infection during pregnancy, specifically HIV infection. I’ve been at Duke for over 25 years. Women who have HIV could have a baby who does not have HIV, if given the right care. My goal is to achieve this result for all mothers with HIV. I consider myself to be a nurturing person who enjoys taking care of people. I view it as an honor to help women at such a sensitive and special time in their lives. I want my patients to feel like they are part of the care team, and that they are safe and in good hands. My favorite time of year is the holidays, when I get a stack of cards from many of the mothers who I’ve treated containing pictures of their babies. Outside of work, I enjoy walking my dog, hiking, working in my yard and exercising.
