About Me

I am a board-certified family medicine physician with clinical interests in sports injuries, gynecology, pediatric and young adult health. I am also interested in osteopathic manipulative therapy, and chronic disease management, such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and obesity. I believe in partnering with the patient and acting as their health advisor. It is my sincere belief that the hard work of health starts when the patient leaves the office. I aim to motivate and support patients to achieve small goals on the path to the larger goal of health.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

My primary area of research is studying ayurvedic, Egyptian, Chinese, herbal and "alternative" medicine. I focus on the research that supports the use of certain supplements and the utility behind specific interventions. I also study western interventions that have been displaced and are no longer practice. My goal is to determine if they are no longer in practice because they have no utility or if they were supplanted due to a significantly better option coming to market.

If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher.
