About Me

I am a pediatric occupational therapist who loves to help kids and their families overcome obstacles and gain new skills. I fell in love with occupational therapy when my father tore a tendon in his arm when I was a teenager. I knew I had to find a school with an occupational therapy program when I watched his therapist take a sheet of plastic, put it into hot water, and form it around my dad's arm to make a splint. However, while completing my clinical rotations, I realized that I had a passion and skill for working with kids. After graduation, I moved to Florida to join my husband, who had taken a job as a youth pastor. While in Florida, I practiced for 2.5 years in the Manatee County School system and 3.5 years at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital as a hospital based outpatient pediatric occupational therapist. In my down time (which I don't have much of as a mother of two small children), I love to sew, run, and do woodworking with my husband.
