About Me
I grew up in a small town in North Carolina with only two pharmacies. My father and mother, both pharmacists, practiced at each of these locations. I was able to witness the positive impact that pharmacists could have on others when I worked with my mother in an independent pharmacy. This experience led me to become a pharmacist. I enjoy helping others however I can. Throughout my career, I've developed an additional interest in exploring ways to help more people by making changes in health care to improve overall population health. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter. One of our favorite activities is going on frequent walks in the neighborhood, often to one of the local coffee shops. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

Clinical Focus and Research
I enjoy conducting quality improvement research to evaluate the effects of clinical pharmacist projects, as well as research that evaluates strategies to improve overall population health. By better understanding how pharmacists or specific medication strategies can improve health outcomes, there is potential that successful interventions could be expanded to serve more people. Additionally, an improved understanding of strategies to improve overall population health can lead to better health for the patients that we serve.
