About Me
I am North Carolina born and raised. After graduate school, I began my career as a physician assistant working on the NC coast in general and bariatric surgery. I joined the Duke Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery in early 2018, after moving back home to the Triangle area with my husband and golden retriever. While my interests lie in the metabolic effects of weight loss surgery, such as in the resolution of diabetes, hypertension, and other obesity-related diseases, it is truly my patients’ small successes that make me love what I do. I am passionate about patient education; I believe my patients should be experts in their own care. I also enjoy getting to know my patients and their families in order develop a strong, trusting relationship. I love celebrating their achievements and accomplishments as I would my own!
