About Me

I have been a women’s health nurse practitioner since 2004 and a certified nurse midwife since 2016. In my career, I have focused on caring for people for gynecologic, preconception, prenatal care, labor, birth, and postpartum periods. I love spending time with my patients and getting to know their unique stories and needs. Caring for patients of diverse backgrounds is what makes my work most meaningful to me. I live with my partner and our three children. In my free time, I like to run, go camping and play the mandolin. I am also learning to quilt. I am so happy to be serving my home community of Durham, North Carolina.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

My research focuses on improving provider knowledge about affirming reproductive health care for LGBTQI people, particularly for trans/nonbinary people. My current project will analyze the effects of new didactic content about transgender/nonbinary health on the attitudes and knowledge of advanced practice nursing students.

Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. We will contact you regarding your coverage and patient liability. If you are uninsured, learn more about our financial assistance policy.
