Specially trained mother-baby nurses at Duke Birthing Center and The Birth Place at Durham Regional Hospital are available to help mothers who need a little guidance learning to breastfeed their babies.
These experienced board-certified lactation consultants with the Advanced Clinical Practice Department are available to inpatient moms and babies who could benefit from some extra assistance -- helping mothers support infants with special needs, manage breastfeeding problems, and establish and maintain a milk supply, if necessary.
