Survivorship Month - Rest, Relax, Renew Sessions

Survivorship month celebrations take place throughout June. These free events are open to everyone. Join us, whether you were recently diagnosed, in treatment, have completed your treatment, or are a caregiver or friend supporting someone with cancer. We have something for everyone.

Survivorship Month is presented by Duke Cancer Institute’s Supportive Care & Survivorship Center.

Survivorship Month events are offered at no cost to all Duke Cancer Institute patients, families, and caregivers. Programming includes support groups, mindfulness activities, educational offerings, and resources to support your emotional and physical health.

Explore the Power of Your Voice for Healing (Virtual)

Wednesday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 17 | 1:30 to 2:30 pm | Virtual

Use sound healing, vocalizing, toning, and freewriting to gain the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits of honoring your voice and working with your built-in, stress-relieving musical instrument.

The tools and techniques discussed and practiced in this session will assist you in your daily life. When used regularly, these small actions will help you pay mindful attention to your heart and voice while experiencing the health benefits of sound, vibration, and self-expression with clarity and joy.

Mindfulness can be a powerful tool to manage the stress that can accompany living with and life after cancer. By focusing on the breath and the present moment, patients and their caregivers will learn to respond rather than react to life’s stressors.

Pets at Duke

Join us for a heartwarming session of hugs and snuggles with one of our therapy dogs from the Pets at Duke program. Come experience the joy and comfort that our furry friends bring to everyone they meet.

Registration is not required. All Pets at Duke meetings are in person.
