My research interests focus on low back pain in golfers, one of the most common musculoskeletal conditions affecting both recreational and competitive players. I am interested in understanding the factors that contribute to golf-related low back pain and identifying evidence-based strategies for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization. My goal is to help health professionals and golf professionals to develop more effective, individualized approaches that reduce the injury risk of golf related low back pain, improve recovery, and enable golfers to continue enjoying the sport safely and confidently.

About Me
Hi, I'm Yushan (Sharmmy) Zhang. I was born and raised in mainland China and moved to the United States at 18. As a former competitive golfer, my passion for movement and performance inspired me to pursue a career in physical therapy. I primarily treat patients with orthopedic conditions and sports-related injuries, working with adolescents through older adults. I have a special interest in helping female athletes, runners and golfers recover from injury, improve performance and return to the activities they love. My approach to care is centered on putting the person first. I believe every patient has unique goals and needs, so I take the time to listen, understand their story and develop an individualized treatment plan that fits their lifestyle. By combining evidence-based practice with compassionate, patient-centered care, my goal is to help every patient move with confidence, recover effectively and return to their desired level of function to maximize quality of life.
