About Me

I care for children and families affected by a wide range of rheumatologic and immune-related conditions, from systemic autoimmune diseases to complex disorders of immune regulation. My goal is to help each child achieve the best possible health and quality of life through clear communication, thoughtful treatment planning, and compassionate, family-centered care.

As director of the Immune Dysregulation Clinic, I coordinate care for children whose immune systems are overactive, underactive, or misdirected, leading to inflammation or recurrent illness. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, I strive to identify the underlying causes of these conditions and to tailor therapies that meet each child’s unique needs.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

My laboratory research focuses on autoimmune and inflammatory diseases of the nervous system in children, including autoimmune encephalitis and related neuroimmune disorders. I study how immune cells and antibodies trigger inflammation in the brain and spinal cord, aiming to understand the mechanisms linking immune activity to neurological symptoms and recovery. My goal is to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets that lead to earlier diagnosis, more precise treatments, and better outcomes for children and families living with these complex conditions.
