About Me
After working for almost six years in family medicine, my love of neurology led me to pursue further training to become a neurologist and epilepsy specialist. My practice is divided into two main settings. In the inpatient setting, I take care of patients with neurological emergencies, like stroke and seizures, as well as neurological complications from other illnesses. My outpatient practice focuses on post-hospitalization care of patients with neurological illnesses, as well as on patients with neurological conditions like intractable epilepsy, headache, and multiple sclerosis. I like to spend time getting to know my patients, collaborating with their families if needed, and exploring the root cause of a problem rather than just treating their symptoms or illness. I like to treat my patients the way I would like myself or my family to be treated.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Clinical Focus and Research
My research focuses on the evaluation and treatment of patients with atypical presentation of stroke. For example, vertigo or room spinning, which is usually caused by an inner ear pathology, can be a sign of stroke in the back of the brain which often gets missed. These strokes have higher complications compared to typical strokes. My other research interests are epilepsy surgery and prolonged seizures (status epilepticus).
