About Me

I went into pediatrics as a specialty in medicine because I want for all children to have the opportunity to be healthy and happy adults. I teach trainees on health disparities and bias and have an interest in the integration of health disparity interventions with ongoing health care reform endeavors such as patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based medicine practice. I believe partnering these efforts can help medicine move beyond documenting the existence of disparities and towards decreasing them. I am committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce in medicine that advocates for our patients, their families, and our communities. I love working with children and have a full house at home with two dog-children (yes, they are totally spoiled) and a son named Ethan. I enjoy cooking, gardening, running and getting lost in a good book.
