About Me

I specialize in the care of patients with general and advanced heart failure. I am seeing patients at WakeMed Heart Center through Heart Care Plus+, the collaboration of heart care services from WakeMed and Duke Health. I look at each patient individually yet apply the most advanced therapies for everyone. I have a particular interest in understanding the causes of heart failure, especially related to pregnancy and chemotherapy. I am also involved in a number of research projects evaluating new possible therapies for patients with heart failure. Outside of work, I enjoy cycling and spending time cycling with my wife and three boys.

Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. We will contact you regarding your coverage and patient liability. If you are uninsured, learn more about our financial assistance policy.
