My research focuses on improving treatment options for patients living with scleroderma and autoimmune lung disease. I study how B cells, an important part of the immune system, contribute to inflammation and scarring in the lungs. By understanding how B cells drive disease, we hope to develop safer, more effective, and more targeted therapies for patients.

About Me
I care for people with autoimmune diseases, especially those living with scleroderma and related lung conditions like interstitial lung disease. These conditions are complex and can impact many aspects of a person’s health, so I work closely with each patient to understand their specific symptoms, goals, and concerns. I believe in a thoughtful, team-based approach that integrates the latest science with individualized care, which is central to our mission at the Duke Scleroderma Center. We offer a range of treatment options and participate in multiple clinical trials, giving patients the opportunity to benefit from cutting-edge research.
I was drawn to rheumatology because of the deep relationships we build with patients and the opportunity to care for the whole person. As a physician-scientist, I am continually inspired by my patients to pursue research aimed at improving treatment options for people living with autoimmune conditions. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, traveling, cooking, and being outdoors. I feel privileged to partner with my patients on their health journeys and to be part of their support team.
