About Me
I treat patients with glaucoma and cataract with evidence based medical treatments, lasers and surgery. Using the latest imaging techniques, I am able to detect glaucoma and its progression at the earliest stages. My research interests include technologies that may help to prevent the onset and progression of glaucoma. I am involved in clinical trials for emerging treatments for glaucoma. When not working I enjoy traveling with my family, and spending time with our dog. I also enjoy listening to Indian classical music.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.

I thank God for Dr Asrani in my prayers all the time. I will be sad the day he retires.
Dr Asrani is awesome!!
Dr. Asrani is outstanding!
Dr. Asrani and the rest of the team were very helpful and knowledgeable. I was confident and at ease in the preparatory visits, the procedure itself, and the follow up.
Dr. Asrani is the best! I have been going to him for years and appreciate his courtesy, caring, and expertise.
I could not ask for better care than I receive with Dr Asrani and his staff.
