I study breast cancer with a special focus on young adults and patients whose cancer has spread to the brain, spine, or nervous system. I am driven by a simple goal: helping young people with breast cancer live longer, healthier lives while preserving what matters most to them, including family plans, fertility, careers, and overall quality of life. My research focuses on finding better treatments when cancer stops responding to therapy and expanding access to clinical trials. By bringing promising new treatments to patients, I hope to provide more personalized care, improve outcomes, and create a brighter future for young adults facing breast cancer.

About Me
I care for patients with breast cancer at every stage of their journey, with a special focus on young adults diagnosed with breast cancer and individuals living with metastatic disease, including cancer that has spread to the brain, spine, or central nervous system. I am passionate about helping younger patients navigate the unique challenges that can accompany a breast cancer diagnosis, from fertility and family planning to survivorship and long-term wellness.
Clinical trials are a central part of my practice. I am committed to developing and bringing innovative new therapies to patients through clinical research and drug development, with a particular interest in treatment resistance and breast cancer brain metastases. My approach is grounded in partnership, communication, and compassion. I strive to ensure every patient feels heard, informed, and supported while receiving the most advanced, personalized care possible.

The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall clinician rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst clinician possible and 10 is the best clinician possible, what number would you use to rate this clinician?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all clinicians. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of clinicians receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
