I am a Gastroenterologist, which means I treat disorders that are specific to the gastrointestinal tract. I am currently specializing in pancreaticobiliary disease, which is a subspecialty within gastroenterology that focuses on diseases of the pancreas and bile ducts. There is a wide range of patients I treat, from patients with simple bile duct stones to patients with pancreatic cancer requiring endoscopic procedures to relief symptoms such as pain and yellowing of the skin. I like to approach my patients in a way that makes them feel comfortable sharing their specific situation with me, and letting them know that I will take them under my care as I would any of my family members. I particularly enjoy this subspecialty as, in most cases, I can perform interventions that result in an almost immediate relief of my patient's symptoms. Other aspects I like about this specialty is the ability to make an expedited diagnosis that will lead to a timely care plan. I am the happiest when at the end of the day I know I solved my patient's problem. When I am not in the hospital you can find me windsurfing at the beach and spending time with my family.
