About Me
With a background in emergency medicine, I naturally gravitated toward medical social work after graduate school. I landed in outpatient pediatrics at Duke Health, not really knowing that I wanted to work with children. I quickly learned that I love working with children and families. The work inspires me, and I enjoy learning from my patients. I feel a sense of privilege to be in the position I am in, and I greatly respect the responsibility I carry to provide excellent care and support to my patients and their families. I'm a big fan of outdoor activities, fitness, and health. As a hobby, I enjoy woodwork, pyrography, and leather craft projects.

My current research interests include the exploring the relationship of eating disorders and body image in the mental health of transgender youth; examining mindful self compassion as an intervention for anxiety, depression and body image issues in youth; exploring the role of parent support in transitioning transgender youth.
