Duke Health Provider What's this?
Insurance

Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks, including the ones listed below. Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. We will contact you regarding your coverage and patient liability. If you are uninsured, learn more about our financial assistance policy

WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I have been working at Duke Health on and off for nearly 30 years, having moved from Louisiana in 1985 after completing an undergraduate degree in physical therapy at LSU Medical Center. I attained my Masters Degree in physical therapy shortly after my move to North Carolina at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. For the past 14 years I have worked with the Duke Sports Medicine team increasingly focusing on shoulder rehabilitation for a variety of nonoperative and postoperative conditions. Examples of shoulder diagnoses that I commonly treat include: rotator cuff tendinitis and bursitis as part of impingement syndrome of the shoulder, frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis), shoulder fractures, rotator cuff tears, and shoulder replacement surgery. I also enjoy taking care of patients with a variety of knee problems including pain in the knee cap and ligament/muscle injuries related to sports or work activities. Although I enjoy being part of a sports model of recovery, I enjoy working with the "aging athlete" who is trying hard to stay in the game! My focus on shoulder led me to join a professional organization called American Shoulder and Elbow Therapists, and I serve on the research committee of this group.
