About Me

I am a physician who specializes in the treatment of a wide variety of childhood cancers and non-cancerous blood disorders. Additionally, I provide long term care for childhood survivors of cancer (survivorship). I am also a parent, and I fully understand how challenging it can be when your child is sick. I view it as a privilege to have the opportunity to work with my amazing patients and their families during these difficult seasons. I am consistently inspired by my patients and how resilient they are despite what they may be going through. I strive to offer the best care that I can for these incredible children.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

In addition to my clinical work, I also have significant experience and ongoing research in global oncology. During my fellowship training, I completed a Master's in Global Health through the Duke Graduate School. I currently conduct research at our partner site located in Mwanza, Tanzania. I spend small part of my year abroad at our partner site furthering this research. Presently, in this work we are focusing on the use of implementation science methodology to improve the treatments used for pediatric Burkitt lymphoma in low resource settings. This work abroad has also opened the door for research opportunities here at Duke with global collaborators.
