Profile
ABOUT ME

I have been a pediatric physical therapist for over 25 years. I grew up in Rochester, New York and my desire to become a physical therapist was sparked by volunteering at a local hospital during high school. After working initially in New York, I volunteered for two years in Uganda in a large hospital. Upon returning, I had a strong interested in learning more about health promotion and injury prevention, which led me to pursue a degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. These past two decades, have been mainly with inpatient pediatrics at Duke Health. Although I truly loved the inpatient setting, in 2014, I gradually transitioned to outpatients, with the Healthy Lifestyles team. I enjoy helping children and their families tailor a fitness program to their individual needs and guiding their progress. I also love empowering young people to be active, to help them achieve their goals and to improve their health overall.
