Emily Ashton, OTD, OTR/L

I am an energetic pediatric occupational therapist who is very excited to be working at Duke Health. My main experience is working with children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and Down syndrome, as well as any child experiencing difficulties with selective eating, sensory processing, emotional regulation, self-care, and fine motor skills. I approach my treatment in a way that supports each child's unique needs. I value giving choices and figuring out how to incorporate your child's interests into every session. When possible, I want your child to feel like they aren't even doing work. My request to you as a parent is that you come to therapy with an open mind and a dedication to your child's treatment. I only have a few sessions with them when you have the rest of the time. I hope to see you and your child at the outpatient clinic at Creekstone very soon! When I'm not treating patients, I like to be active, cook, make crafts, and snuggle with my cat, Cashew.
